My name is Tony Shaw and I’m a freelance writer and photographer, and a classic car enthusiast. I take most of the photos and do most of the writing here at Classic Car Photography, but there is also a small and dedicated support crew to assist with admin, IT and some graphic services.
My particular passion for Australian sports cars and specials. Cars like the Bolwell Nagari, Buchanan, Giocattolo, Ilinga, Nota Fang, Purvis Eureka, Taylorspeed Mini Jem and even the Lightburn Zeta.
I am or have been a member of a number of car clubs, including the Bolwell Car Club, Purvis Eureka Car Club, Victorian Mini Club, VW Club of Victoria and the Mini Owners Club of Queensland. My participation in clubs has ranged from magazine contributor to magazine editor, show and shine judge, treasurer, secretary, CAMS delegate, and so on.
For the past couple of decades I have been a freelance photojournalist contributor to a number of automotive magazines including Australian Classic Car, The Mini Experience and VW Magazine Australia. I have contributed feature articles on a huge variety of privately owned cars and have written articles covering numerous car shows, club events, anniversary celebrations, and so on. I have also taken photos of cars for classic car dealers’ advertisements as well as for magazine advertising features. Whilst usually providing both words and pictures for articles, I have also provided words for other photographers, and photographs for other writers. My photos have appeared on several magazine covers.
The Classic Car Photography website provides me with an opportunity to share some of the photographs I have taken over the years.
I hope that you enjoy them!
