Classic Throttle Shop in Sydney has a 1965 Aston Martin DB5 currently for sale. We’ve highlighted a few special Astons for sale in the past but they have been mostly overseas, so it’s great to see such a nice example available locally.
Here’s how Classic Throttle Shop introduce this car,
So much has been written about the now iconic Aston Martin DB5 due to the bond factor that they have become a favourite of collectors and want to be James Bonds for many years now.
This DB5 is a light metallic blue rather than the usual silver and was built on 30th June 1965. It has the 4.0 litre engine and 5 speed manual ZF gearbox, and was ordered with chrome wire wheels, heated rear screen and Motorola Radio with a power aerial.
Chassis Number 2242 had a full body off restoration during the late 1990s to such a high standard that it won the concours that year in Canberra. During the restoration the engine was rebuilt at 97,400 miles showing and has since covered a further 17,000 miles which all adds up to a total of 114,000 miles or so from new. The car has many original features that have been kept during restoration and this includes most of the original interior and leather trim.
Classic Throttle Shop concludes their advert,
With world prices climbing all the time and more and more people wanting the ultimate Aston it all means that prices will continue to rise. Stop shaking and get stirred, its now time!!!
