The Capri Car Club held its annual show & shine “Capris at Caribbean Gardens” at Caribbean Gardens, Scoresby on Sunday 21st September 2014.
The weather gods were quite kind and it was a very pleasant day for a classic car show.
The number of cars on display was to this observer quite an achievement. I spotted about 30 “classic” capris of various models, from 1600 GTs to 3 litre GTs, Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 models and several V8 powered cars, some of which were certainly genuine South African Peranas.
In addition there were quite a number of the more recent “modern” Capris, with the standout being an XR2 turbo model.
In keeping with the small Ford theme there were also about 10 Ford Cortinas of various models, many apparently GT versions. A pale blue LHD US import 2 –door GT with a Lotus engine transplant caught the attention of many interested visitors to Capris at Caribbean Gardens.
Just to round things off there was a small number of other Fords on display, including a US Ford Falcon Sprinter coupe, a monstrous Lincoln with a fabulous paint job on the roof, and a slightly tired looking Anglia.
Organisers of Capris at Caribbean Gardens should be proud of their achievements on arranging such a well organised show.
