Celebrate twenty-six years of thunder when the Victorian Historic Racing Register (VHRR) presents the 2017 Historic Sandown event in mid-November 2017. Historic Sandown attracts competitors from all corners of the country and is regarded as one of Australia’s integral historic race meetings.
There will be plenty of ‘tin-top’ action for Touring Car fans at 2017 Historic Sandown, with great cars, including Holdens, Fords, Chryslers, BMWs and Jaguars, set to feature.
Open-wheelers will be a prominent feature of this year’s event, including Historic Formula Fords and Formula 5000.
Large displays from car clubs will add to the spectacle, with more than 300 desirable vehicles set to be on display at Red Hill on the Dandenong Road end of the Sandown circuit.
There will be thirteen historic categories on the event’s schedule, ranging from the 1920s to the 1980s.
Trade stands, food outlets and off-track displays will be an added bonus for race fans.
Everything is conveniently located at Sandown International Raceway. There’s free access to the pits and the grandstand where excellent viewing of the trackside action can be enjoyed.

The 2017 Historic Sandown will run on 10-12 November at Sandown International Raceway, with tickets starting at $35. Admission is free on Friday, November 10. Costs are $35 for adults on Saturday 11, and $40 on Sunday 12. A weekend pass costs just $70. Children under 15 and accompanied by an adult will be admitted free.
