It’s hard to radiate more retro-chic appeal than Lesley “Twiggy” Lawson’s 1969 Lamborghini Miura S.
Resplendent in Twiggy’s chosen lime green with orange/white stripes livery, this lovely Lambo will go under the hammer during Motorclassica’s Collector Car Auction this October.
RACV Motorclassica, Australasia’s premier award-winning Concours d’Elegance and Classic Motor Show is pleased to announce details of its Collector Car Auction.
Already consigned to this exciting and integral element of RACV Motorclassica is the ex-Lesley ‘Twiggy’ Lawson, 1969 Lamborghini Miura S. According to the accompanying paperwork from Automobili Lamborghini, the car “was indeed sold by us to Twiggy through our U.K. Importers in 1969”. It was delivered to the Daily Express’s “The Face of ‘66” in her chosen colour scheme. As the Automobili Lamborghini documentation continues, “it was painted lime green with orange-white stripes, probably at our factory, whilst also according to our records it was white originally”.
This outstanding, original Factory right hand drive Lamborghini Miura S has been with its current owner since 1978 and not previously offered for sale in this time. In wonderful condition it is now offered to the market for the first time in 34 years.
Paul Mathers, Event Director of RACV Motorclassica said, “We are incredibly pleased to have this beautiful car consigned to our Collector Car Auction. This important vehicle has real international appeal and is of a calibre that epitomises what Motorclassica is really all about”
Further announcements of other vehicles to be included and details of the sale will be released over the coming months.
Now in its third year, RACV Motorclassica will be held at the Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne, Australia on 26th -28th October 2012, and will feature special tributes to Sir Jack Brabham, the 100th Anniversary of the Victorian Motor Show and the 60th Anniversary of Lotus. The climax of the event will be the Collector Car Auction on Sunday 28th.
